About
"Fake Jews" is a one-man play, premiered in January 2026, in which actor Moritz Kienemann performs director-author Noam Brusilovsky's text about people who falsely claim Jewish or Holocaust-survivor identities (such as Binjamin Wilkomirski, whose 1995 memoir was exposed as invented) and what that says about German remembrance culture. It runs 1 hour 40 minutes without an intermission in the Box, the small studio stage of the Deutsches Theater, a major Berlin theatre; the performance is in German and reviews praise it as sharp, funny and intense.
