About
A tragicomedy by the Austrian author Anna Gmeyner (written 1932), staged by Jan Bosse at the Deutsches Theater's main stage: a resourceful innkeeper runs an automated snack bar while her dreamer husband rescues a young woman from drowning, setting off a story of hunger, humor and hope among small people in a Europe on the brink. Recommended from grade 10; a 18:30 introduction in the Rangfoyer precedes the performance, which runs about 2 hours 50 minutes.
