About
World premiere of a German-German satirical comedy in the Deutsches Theater's Kammer stage in Berlin, adapted from Jakob Hein's novel: a young East German economist in the state planning commission devises a trade scheme with Afghanistan that works too well and sets politicians and authorities in both Germanys scrambling. Directed by Wilke Weermann, it runs about 1 hour 40 minutes without an intermission, and critics praised its fast slapstick and the ensemble's timing; this performance is listed as sold out, with possible returns at the box office.
