About

An English-language talk at Sinema Transtopia, an independent cinema in Berlin, as part of the Deutsche Kinemathek's Film Restored heritage festival. Guest professor Karina Griffith (UdK Berlin) presents a June 2025 workshop that examined the archived 35-mm print of Wanjiru Kinyanjui's 1995 DFFB graduation film 'Der Kampf um den heiligen Baum' through a 'projection studies' lens, asking how archives treat Black German cinema and what happens when filmmakers are excluded from archiving and distribution.
