About
Mozart's comic opera from 1786 (libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, after Beaumarchais), sung in Italian with German and English surtitles, about the valet Figaro and his bride Susanna outwitting a lecherous count on their wedding day. Jürgen Flimm's production sets the intrigues in a seaside holiday villa, with Marc Minkowski conducting the Staatskapelle Berlin at the historic Staatsoper Unter den Linden; it runs about 3 hours 25 minutes with one interval.
