Screening of the restored 1966 Bulgarian black-and-white film about Toni, a rebellious young woman sent from Sofia to the small town of Ruse, where she joins a socialist work brigade and must choose between conformity and an independent life. The film was banned soon after completion and not released until 1988; this 4K restoration is shown at the Film Restored festival of the Deutsche Kinemathek, with an introduction by archivist Yoanna Nasfadi (original with English subtitles, 100 min).
