About

A series of 70 works by Dutch artist Marcel van Eeden (a professor and rector at the Karlsruhe art academy) on nationalism, colonialism and racism, starting from the fate of Abdel Kader Ben Lahcen, a North African colonial soldier who died in 1870 in the Franco-Prussian War. It is shown at the Haus der Graphischen Sammlung in Freiburg, 27 June to 18 October 2026, with commentary works by Karlsruhe students.
