Köpenick, a historic district in southeast Berlin, celebrates the 120th anniversary of the 1906 hoax in which the shoemaker Wilhelm Voigt posed as a Prussian captain and seized the town hall, a story made famous by Carl Zuckmayer's play. From 16 to 18 October the programme includes a ball at the historic Rathaus Köpenick (planned ticket price 49 euros, ball dress code) and a march of around 120 costumed 'captains' through the old town to the town hall, followed by a reception.
