About
An in-person lecture in the Global History Colloquium at Freie Universität Berlin, where Heike Becker, emeritus anthropology professor at the University of the Western Cape, presents her 2026 biography of Andimba Toivo ya Toivo, a leader of Namibia's independence struggle. The talk looks at the transnational side of the liberation movement against South African colonial rule and apartheid, including the role of migration in the rise of 1950s resistance.
