Screening of the 1949 German film adaptation of Gerhart Hauptmann's satirical comedy "Der Biberpelz", in which the cunning washerwoman Mutter Wolff (Fita Benkhoff) gets away with theft while a pompous, dim-witted village magistrate hunts imagined enemies of the state. The film, scripted by Rolf A. Stemmle and spoken in old Berlin dialect, is introduced by film scholar Irina Vogt as part of the KulturTribüne Grünau series in Berlin's Grünau district.
